Project Description

 All over Kenya.
 2010, 2011
The Rural Surgical outreach programme was started in 2004 with an aim of enhancing quality and accessibility of Ear, Nose and Throat services in Kenya. This is achieved by providing ear screenings, ear operations, and training doctors. Surgery for certain ear conditions restore hearing, but this surgery is only accessible to a few Kenyans. If Operation Ear Drop was not offering these operations, these services would not be available to those who need them the most; as there is a severe shortage of ENT specialists in Kenya with majority of them being concentrated in the big towns.

Ear surgery is also expensive and few Government hospitals have afforded to buy the highly specialized equipment needed. These programmes involves both Ear screening and Ear operations. We have already covered parts of North Eastern, Nyanza, Rift Valley and Nairobi provinces.
